Yim Tin Tsai is an island in the outskirt of Sai Kung, famous for its religious and salt making history. The area with pristine landscape is surrounded by wetlands. It is a popular choice for eco-tour nowadays. To better promote the place, the residents have decided to revitalize the site and to build an environmental education center.

The environmental education center consists of a major museum building together with a minor staff building. The major building’s gallery is built with two gathering spaces for visitors to join the workshops conveniently. Meanwhile, people from the staff building can gain access to the main building easily without interrupting the visitors. The cafe on the ground floor of the staff building has the best scenery towards the salt pan, which promotes staff-visitors’ interaction.
