This is a design-build proposal for North Island College, Comox Valley campus. It consists of a 5-storey student residence with a 4-storey family-oriented building built in mass-timber with BC step code 4 requirement.

The proposed buildings forms a new triangle-shaped social common on the campus’s eastern edge. The building form is carefully articulated such that it is embraced by the existing forest. The exterior facade utilizes pitched roof, wood soffit, metal cladding in respond to the building form and palette of the existing campus buildings and resonates with indigenous building typology.
